Charlotte CROP Hunger Walk
The mission of the Charlotte CROP Hunger Walk is to raise awareness and funds locally to fight hunger in the Charlotte community and around the world through the sponsorship of Church World Service. Twenty-five percent of the money raised supports three local agencies: Crisis Assistance Ministry, Loaves & Fishes and Second Harvest Food Bank. The remaining 75% supports poverty fighting projects in 80 countries sponsored by Church World Service.
Unity Against Hunger and Poverty is a coalition of over 20 local hunger and poverty fighting agencies that meet regularly to share information. The coalition’s motto is to “Advocate, Educate, and never Duplicate”.
The greater Carolinas Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster is a consortium of recognized volunteer organizations active in disaster relief. Loaves & Fishes is the designated lead agency to coordinate food needs in a local disaster.
